
Control Software Developer
About the role
Cosylab’s team, which is working on control software for various scientific machines and facilities, is looking for a new team member!

As a control software developer, you would help develop a control system for one of the world’s largest projects for international cutting-edge research – Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research (FAIR).
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Software development (C++, Java) for particle accelerator control systems.
- Analyzing requirements, proposing technical solutions.
- Writing clean, readable, and well-structured code.
- Documenting and thoroughly testing own work.
- Collaborating with the client and the internal team.
Required qualifications and skills
- Object-oriented programming languages (C++, Java).
- Software design principles and programming techniques.
- Effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proactivity and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills with a systematic approach to managing tasks and priorities.
Education
- B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or other related technical disciplines.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
Bonus points if you have
- Experience in leading software development projects and/or teams.
- Experience working with clients.
- Experience in JavaFX.
- Experience in web development (React).
- Experience in hardware integration.
- Experience in AI-augmented development.
