Marketing Strategy and Operations Lead (m/f)
About the role
We are looking for a highly skilled and strategic Marketing Strategy and Operations Lead to drive the marketing strategy and marketing operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will develop and implement domain-specific marketing strategies, manage marketing operations with a team of experts, and work closely with cross-functional teams as SPOC for individual domains to align marketing efforts with business objectives.
This is a leadership role that requires a blend of strategic marketing expertise, operational excellence, and hands-on execution. The candidate is expected to be well versed and has hands-on experience in advanced B2B omnichannel marketing execution.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Domain Marketing Strategy
- Develop and execute domain-specific marketing strategies for key business areas, aligning with overall company goals and target markets in the B2B sector.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities, competitive positioning, and customer insights in the software development landscape.
- Collaborate with production and sales teams to create go-to-market strategies, including product/service launches, positioning, and messaging that resonates with target audiences.
- Segment the market and develop tailored marketing plans for different industry verticals (e.g., scientific accelerators, fusion, quantum, radiotherapy, medical services etc.)
- Drive thought leadership and content marketing initiatives, establishing the company as a leading voice in its domain.
- Define and manage the customer journey, ensuring seamless brand/service engagement from awareness to conversion and retention.
- Marketing Operations
- Lead and optimize marketing operations, ensuring efficient execution of marketing campaigns across multiple channels (digital, email, social media, events, etc.).
- Oversee marketing technologies and platforms (CRM, automation tools, analytics) to streamline processes, track performance, and ensure data-driven decision-making.
- Manage the marketing projects budget
- Monitor, measure, and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, providing regular updates to the Department Head and key stakeholders.
- Implement scalable processes and best practices for campaign management, lead nurturing, and marketing project execution.
- Collaborate closely with sales and product teams to align marketing operations with sales enablement and production efforts.
- Lead Generation and Nurturing
- Work with Omnichannel Marketing Manager to ensure effective lead generation strategies are in place.
- Optimize lead nurturing processes, ensuring consistent engagement with prospects throughout the customer journey and improving conversion rates.
- Work with the sales team to redefine lead scoring criteria if needed, ensuring marketing and sales alignment on lead quality and pipeline development.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with sales, production, partner teams to ensure a unified approach to achieving business objectives.
- Collaborate with the content, omnichannel, and event marketing experts to create cohesive campaigns that drive customer engagement and generate leads.
- Align marketing initiatives with broader company goals, product roadmaps, and customer success strategies.
- Data-Driven Decision Making and Reporting
- Leverage data and analytics to measure campaign effectiveness, track KPIs, and adjust strategies based on performance insights.
- Provide actionable insights to senior management through regular reporting on marketing metrics, such as lead generation, conversion rates, and customer acquisition costs (CAC).
- Utilize market intelligence tools and data to inform decision-making and continuously refine marketing tactics.
- Leadership and Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and coach a team of marketing professionals, ensuring the development of skills and fostering a collaborative team environment (initially with the head of marketing department).
- Drive continuous improvement within the marketing team, identifying and implementing ways to enhance efficiency, creativity, and collaboration.
Required qualifications and skills
- Proven experience (10+ years) in marketing strategy and operations, particularly within the B2B technology or software development industries.
- Strong understanding of B2B marketing, including go-to-market strategies, product marketing, and lead generation.
- Experience with marketing automation platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo), CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), and data analytics tools is a plus.
- Knowledge of SEO, SEM, digital marketing, and content marketing best practices.
- Demonstrated success in managing complex marketing operations and developing domain-specific marketing strategies.
- Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with product, sales, and leadership teams.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
