Medical/Particle Physicist (m/f)
About the role
We are looking for a Medical/Particle Physicist to strengthen our team and assist with the development of an exciting, novel cancer therapy software project involving multiple distributed components and workflows. By joining us, you will have a real impact on cancer treatment and the opportunity to contribute to improving the lives of patients.
What you will be doing
- Working with medical physicists on specifications and designing of software and hardware systems they are using.
- Working on developing calibration and quality assurance tools and procedures for systems for particle and radiotherapy.
- Translating proton and radiotherapy dosimetry and calibration standards and guidelines into new calibration and quality assurance tools and procedures.
- Preparing and executing installation, commissioning, verification, and validation procedures for medical devices in radiation therapy.
- Developing:
- new algorithms for calculating the physical dose distribution of photon and ion radiation,
- new algorithms for evaluating the biological effects of proton and ion radiation on the living tissue,
- algorithms for optimization of radiation treatment plans to fulfil clinical goals prescribed by a radiation oncologist.
Required qualifications and skills
- Proven experience with Monte Carlo Simulation.
- Knowledge of programming (e.g. Python, C++)
- Previous experience with radiation therapy equipment is considered a bonus point, but not an excluding factor.
- Developed communication and collaboration skills and an open mind for discussion in the team.
Education
- At least B.Sc. in Medical Physics or Physics
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
