About the role
We’re working on an exciting novel cancer therapy software project that involves multiple distributed components and workflows. As a System Engineer/Business Analyst, you’ll play an important role in ensuring a successful realization of the complex system with an interdisciplinary approach, being a link between customers and developers.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Consulting with the customers, determining their needs and shaping them into requirements.
- Taking part in development and integration of a complex software from multiple perspectives.
- Understanding, co-creating, and applying the development processes for regulated software.
- Providing a link between customer needs and production deliverables.
- Performing on-site usability testing and training with end users.
- Creatively solving problems during complex projects using technical and people skills.
- Understanding the system as a whole to assist with proper design and development approaches of effective and safe systems.
- Understanding project stakeholders’ issues – from developers, project managers, customers to users.
- Designing safety-critical systems and involvement in the risk management process.
Required qualifications and skills
- Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting abilities—you’re the type of person who thrives on solving complex systems challenges, even if you haven’t worked in a specific industry before.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Being organized, detail-oriented: you excel at keeping track of complex systems and tasks, ensuring nothing slips through the cracks.
- Some basic programming knowledge (Python, C++ or C#). You’ll most likely not write code, but understanding basic programming logic and being able to read code snippets is required.
Education
- At least B.Sc. in Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering (or another related technical discipline) or Faculty of Medicine.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
Bonus points if you have
- Previous experience in the medical field – industry, research or healthcare. .
- Work experience covering the complete development lifecycle (definition, design, implementation, integration, verification, testing, and deployment).
- Experience with requirement elicitation: understanding customers‘ and users‘ needs, translating those into clear, actionable technical requirements, and managing conflicting or evolving needs.
- Knowledge about healthcare/medical software standards and regulations such as ISO 13485, IEC 62304, or FDA 21 CFR Part 11
- Experience with customer relationship management.
