Team Lead (SW & HW Development) (m/f)
Are you the person people turn to when a complex technical challenge needs clarity?
Do you enjoy connecting software, hardware, and customer needs into one coherent solution?
And are you someone who sees potential in people and knows how to guide them toward it?
If this sounds like you, let’s talk. You could be the Team Lead who helps us shape high-impact engineering projects, grow our people, and push forward solutions used in some of the most advanced scientific and industrial environments worldwide.
About the role
We are expanding our technical leadership capacity in the Services department. We’re looking for a Team Lead with strong technical breadth across software and hardware, as well as a genuine ability to understand and develop people. You will join a domain where teamwork, ownership, and constructive thinking are highly valued.
At first, you will work closely with our Senior Architect to learn our systems hands-on. At the same time, you will support the Group Leader in both technical and people-leadership responsibilities. Over time, you can grow into a broader leadership role if this is your ambition.
We know our domain is specialized, so if you’re new to fusion or control-system environments, don’t worry. We will give you all the support you need to succeed. If interested, check out this blog post to see what we’re working on.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Lead small and mid-sized development projects as the technical authority.
- Translate customer needs into clear technical requirements and solutions.
- Break down the work, estimate the effort, and identify the required technical skills.
- Act as the PM’s technical counterpart — explaining technical challenges, priorities, and project status in a clear, high-level way.
- Join discussions with customers to understand their true needs.
- Shape technical concepts and proposals together with our sales and engineering teams.
- Guide team members through 1:1s, coaching, technical feedback, and career development..
Required qualifications and skills
- Technical background across multiple technologies (eg, C++, PLC, FPGA, LabVIEW, etc.).
- Hands-on software or hardware development experience.
- Ability to design technical concepts, estimate work, and mentor engineers.
- Experience in mentoring juniors and supporting team members in making technical decisions.
- Leadership and people skills, with the capacity to guide a diverse team of engineers towards a common project goal.
- Ability to balance business and team needs to meet expectations, timelines, and customer requirements.
- Excellent communication skills with both customers and internal teams.
Education
- B.Sc. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or other related technical disciplines.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
What we offer
- Employment contract for an indefinite period with a six-month probationary period.
- A work environment with flexible working hours and a hybrid work model.
- Plenty of personal and professional growth opportunities combined with a competitive and periodically updated salary tailored to your skills, experiences, and results.
- Interesting work, full of challenges in an international working environment.
- Opportunities to work abroad.
- High-impact learning culture: regular in-house and external training sessions and a team of international professionals eager to help you grow.
- Many recreational after-work activities, additional health insurance (Specialists+), unlimited coffee, soft drinks, fruit, and other well-being goodies.
- Cosylab events (Teambuilding, New Year’s Party, Picnic … ).
