Cosylab Strengthens its Support of Slovenian Chip Development Via Competence Centres
Namely, the mentioned competence centre will play an essential role in the upcoming European “Chips for Europe Initiative” by providing access to technical expertise and experiments and helping businesses to develop and innovate. Cosylab is closely involved with this initiative, as its CEO, Dr Mark Pleško, is already a member of the working group preparing the Slovenian national strategy in semiconductor technologies and chips until 2030.
The strategy is being conducted under the auspices of the Ministry of Digital Transformation in association with two other ministries – the Ministry of Economy, Tourism and Sport, and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.
At Cosylab, we have an impressive track record of supporting high-tech projects in the semiconductor industry, where comprehending the complexities of the entire system — both technology- and business-wise — is vital to advanced, production-ready software and electronics. Our main competencies lie in:
- development of controls of complex measuring systems for lithography components;
- introduction of advanced technologies into the testing and measurement processes;
- optimization of control processes and increase of throughput production.
Tadej Pukl, Senior Business Development Manager for Semiconductor Solutions at Cosylab, points out that “we believe competence centres will play a significant role in supporting a wide range of activities for enhancing engineers’ competencies, crucial for the semiconductor industry, for example, for developing electronic components for clean, UHV and vacuum rooms or for non-standard applications of electronics and software in lithography subsystems.”
